PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES

What do Girl Scouts do?

Almost anything a girl would like to do! The Girl Scout movement is girl-driven, reflecting the ever-changing needs and interests of participating girls. It provides girls grades K-12 with a wide variety of opportunities and activities available in Girl Scout handbooks, award books, the Go Girls Only and STUDIO 2B websites, and other program resources.

Girl Scouts programming encourages skill-building and responsibility, and also promotes the development of strong leadership and decision-making skills. All program activities are age-appropriate and based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law and four fundamental goals that encourage girls to:

  • Develop to their full potential
  • Relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect
  • Develop a meaningful set of values to guide their actions and to provide for sound decision-making
  • Contribute to the improvement of society

Girls may register for programs with their troop or individually. For many of the Destinations Programs, girls do not need to come with an adult. Safety-Wise girl/adult ratios are for all programs unless stated in the description. Please do not register more adults than needed to maintain the required girl/adult ratio as it reduces the number of girls who can be accommodated. They are:

Two adults for first: Plus one additional adult for each additional:
6 Daisy Girl Scouts
12 Brownie Girl Scouts
16 Junior Girl Scouts
20 Cadette Girl Scouts
24 Senior/Ambassador Girl Scouts
4 Daisy Girl Scouts
6 Brownie Girl Scouts
8 Junior Girl Scouts
10 Girl Scouts
12 Senior/Ambassador Girl Scouts

Adults accompanying girls are expected to actively supervise the girls.
