Community service is a big part of who we are as Girl Scouts. Service projects are one activity that people outside of the Girl Scouting community recognize as being an integral part of our program. Through service projects, girls gain valuable life skills while learning the importance of helping others. They also get the satisfaction of knowing they can have an impact, and they can do something big! Many opportunities are listed in the monthly volunteer newsletter, Volunteer Connection. The Girl Development team is looking for two to three Senior or Ambassador Girl Scouts to volunteer during the February Schools Out Program. Girls will help facilitate programming and work with younger girls completing various activities. Each program runs from 9 am - 5 pm. The location and days we are looking to fill are as follows: Monday, February 16th: Camp Meadowbrook’s Superstar Actress Girls will learn from a professional how to be a star on stage! Come and help girls create and star in skits, learn acting techniques, and then help them prepare for a talent show! Tuesday, February 17th: Camp Meadowbrook’s Your Best Life Now- Food and the Outdoors! Girls will learn all about healthy foods and will need help making snacks and designing their own cookbooks.
