Adult Learning opportunities in Girl Scouting help volunteers gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to successfully facilitate a meaningful and safe Girl Scout experience. Learning opportunities come in many forms: face to face classes, online resources, discussions, conferences and more! Opportunities are offered throughout the year. The class calendar below contains courses for leaders, assistant leaders, service team members, first-aiders and outdoor enthusiasts. All courses are designed to enhance and develop your knowledge, skills, abilities, and enthusiasm for Girl Scouting. Courses are not limited to troop leaders; assistant leaders and parents are encouraged to take courses on behalf of their troop.

2010 Lake Clear Adult Conference:Live Your World
Join us for a weekend of learning and fun at our peaceful Lake Clear Camp! The “Live Your World” theme refers to the opportunities that are available to Girl Scouts new & old. Add to your ‘leadership toolkit’ by experiencing activities involving the Journey program, “It’s Your Planet, Love It” by exploring water, energy, air and our earth as a whole. You will also get the chance to enjoy Girl Scout basics, such as: outdoor cooking, boating, crafts, & campfire songs. Conference fee includes lodging, meals, workshops and other activities: $60 for the whole weekend, $50 for Saturday - Sunday and $40 for Saturday only Click Here for more information and to Register!
GSUSA's new Online Volunteer Orientation: New volunteers: please complete the Girl Scouts of the USA online orientation to learn more about the Girl Scout movement. It can be accessed at http://training.girlscouts.org/ When you log on, please type in the assigned password: discover (or descubrir if using the Spanish-language version of the orientation). Online orientation does not replace the local orientation that takes place at the Service Unit level.
Leadership Essentials - All Leaders are required to take this core course before they are able to receive their troop's registration packet for next year. New Leaders are also required to take it before they can start their troop. Assistant leaders (02's) are not required to take it but are encouraged to do so. Girl Scout activities may not happen without a trained adult present, and having at least 2 adults in a troop with Leadership Essentials ensures that activities can happen if the leader is not able to attend. New Option for Leadership Essentials Course: There are times when online courses may fit your learning and scheduling needs better than a classroom session. If your personal learning style is to read the instructions and then do the activity or put the object together, then this may be an effective delivery format for you. Click here for more information. Course Booklets: Please feel free to print and bring your own booklets to our classes - it's a great way to help us reduce printing costs! Other Helpful Resources:
