A destination is your chance to go somewhere new, do something different, and meet people from everywhere you can imagine. You can travel around the corner or around the globe. There are GSNENY Destinations and GSUSA sponsored national and international Destinations. Click here to visit GSUSA's Studio 2B website for the current programs offered. Which one is right for you? International: Events outside of the U.S. Outdoors: Events ranging from learning outdoor skills to Outward Bound challenges on land or sea. Science: Events that take science to a new level; learn animal behavior or what a doctor's life is like. People: Events that visit cities and rural areas so you can experience the culture of new places. Apprenticeships: Events that give you hands-on, real-life experience in a potential career field. Getaways: Events that are from two to four days all over the country, that don't require the 2009 Girl Scout destinations application. Check the site often - Getaway destinations are constantly being added. Don't be intimidated by the price. Many of the events are offered at reduced prices from what the public would be charged. Plus, some funding is available through the council. Staff can also help you with ideas for raising money for your trip. Contact the Outdoor Learning Department at 489-8110, if you have questions or need more information. |
